Free Stuff Alert: Influenster Goes Frosty

frosty2I’ve been a member of influenster for about ten months now and I’ve received three vox boxes (boxes full of free stuff.) You may be wondering what influenster is so i’ll start there; influenster is a website that rewards people who have an active social media presence. Companies partner with influenster and send out boxes with products for a selected number of people to try out. All they want in exchange is for you to be vocal about their product on social media. You don’t have to have a blog, if you’re active on facebook, instagram, tumblr, etc you’ll do just fine. If you get products and don’t review them you don’t get in trouble or anything but the more vocal you are about the products the more likely you are to get more products in the future. One nice thing about influenster is that because you’re not getting paid you don’t have to pretend to like products that you don’t actually like. The other nice this is that you get free stuff that is actually useful to you and your family because they take down you demographics and have you fill out surveys so that you don’t get sent stuff you would never use. I don’t usually have to put in that much time to influenster and yet I get to help out my household by bringing in free products for us to try. To give you an idea of what a voxbox looks like I’ve decided to briefly review the products that I got in my most recent vox box for you; the frosty vox box.

No7 Protect and Perfect: This is an anti aging lotion that is apparently quite popular in the UK. I’ve used this 3 nights in a row and I can’t really speak for any anti aging properties because that’s not really an issue I have. However, I can vouch for the fact that it does not make me breakout or irritate my very sensitive skin, and it definitely helps keep my skin from getting dried out by the cold air.

Rimmel Gentle Eye Makeup Remover: So this truly is gentle it did not irritate my eyes at all. It worked great on my eyeshadow, eyeliner, and lipstick. However it did not get off all of my waterproof mascara. I’d still give it a pretty high performance rating though since most makeup remover struggles with removing waterproof mascara.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliner: I really love this eyeliner. It goes on SOOOO smoothly and evenly. The color is quite dark so I actually blotted some lavender eye shadow on top of it to make it more mild for a daytime look.

NYC Expert Last Lip Color in Sugar Plum: I literally cannot believe that this lipstick only costs $2 dollars in the store. It’s a nice consistency, it’s not thick and clumpy but it also doesn’t dry out and crack. The color itself is really nice and flattering for a wide variety of skin tones.

Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane Lane Decaf Green Tea: So I’m not supposed to have too much peppermint because I’m breastfeeding and peppermint can lower your milk supply so I was only able to take a few sips of this tea. It’s quite good though. It has a pleasantly mild taste to it. I added some raw honey to it.

EcoTools Hairbrush: This is probably my favorite item out of the box. I can’t even remember the last time we bought a new hairbrush in our house. After using it I realized that I’ve never actually owned a nice hairbrush. It smooths out tangles without stealing the volume from your hair.

McCourmick Gourmet Thyme: I tend to use fresh herbs over dried herbs but in the winter its harder for me to get my hands on fresh herbs since I haven’t gotten around to building a mini indoor green house yet. For a dried herb this bran retains it’s flavor quite well. So far I’ve tried it in homemade cheesy biscuits and an egg/potato scramble. I think I’m going to try it with fish and lemon next.

Fruit Vines Bites: Normally I don’t like Red Vines, I think the flavor is a little boring and I prefer twizzlers. But these bites are really yummy, they have a lot more flavor than the traditional red vines. These are husband approved as well because John also loved them. I’m sad to say we finished the bag off rather quickly.

So that should give you a good idea of what kind of stuff you can get from influenster and what kind of reviews you write for them. A lot of times you can just post a picture of yourself using the item on instagram and get points for that. In case anyone is interested in checking out influenster I’ll include my referral link below. And again, I’d like to remind you that I was no compensated for this blog post, I just wanted to share an awesome way to get free stuff with my readers!

    • I have a couple tips; 1. Make sure you connect all of your social media sites to it the more followers and friends you have the higher your influence score. 2. Be patient it can take a little while to get a box. 3. Make sure you do a couple reviews on their site here and there to keep your account active. They don’t need to be lengthy.
